Sahara has moved the Supreme Court seeking extension of facilities by six weeks given to its jailed chief Subrata Roy for striking deals with various persons. The court has asked Shara group to file an application in this regard.

"You are struggling to pay Rs 10,000 crore then how will you pay Rs 30,000 cr after coming out," the SC asked.

The apex court has set a condition that Roy has to deposit Rs 10,000 crore to ensure his release from Tihar jail where he has been lodged since March 4, 2014. On January 9, it had allowed Sahara Group to go ahead with its proposed transactions with some conditions including the approval of RBI for the transfer to India of the funds raised in the US to meet the requirement set for release of Roy, who is lodged in Tihar jail since March 4 last year for non-refund of over Rs 20,000 crore with interest to depositors.
