Former Maharashtra home minister R R Patil on life support

Former Maharashtra home minister R R Patil, who is undergoing treatment for oral cancer at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital, is critical.

"Patil is on life support system. He is critical but stable,' said Dr Sanjay Ogeymoghe of the Lilavati Hospital said.

Patil has an advanced form of oral cancer for which he underwent surgery last year at Breach Candy Hospital. The disease is at a stage involving lymph nodes, The Times of India had reported in January.
