Out of jail after a six-month prison term on drug charges, Hollywood action star Jackie Chan's son apologised to the public today for his "mistakes" and pleaded for a second chance, saying the punishment has changed his life and values.

Jaycee Chan, 32, said he had 'no reason, no excuse' for taking to drugs despite his father being a goodwill ambassador for China National Anti-Drug Committee in 2009.

"After this correction by the justice system, I have changed my outlook on life and my values," said Jaycee. "I want to apologise to everyone for my mistakes. I am genuinely sorry." Jaycee said his father did not intervene on his behalf and he received no special treatment in prison.
