US confirms death of Isis American hostage Kayla Mueller

The White House said on Tuesday that the American hostage Kayla Jean Mueller, who was being held by Jihadi militants in Syria, had been killed.

The family of Mueller, who is believed to be the last American being held by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, known as Isis, said they had received information over the weekend that confirmed the death of the 26-year-old aid worker.

The US intelligence community verified the claim.
