Uddhav Thackeray delivers a mound of salt to BJP's wounds.

BJP ally Shiv Sena who split with the party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections chose its words while congratulating the AAP for its spectacular performance.

Top leaders across party lines were effusive in their praise for Kejriwal who has handed his party a near-perfect score in the Delhi election.

Thackeray, sprinkled salt on Prime Minister Modi's wounds with his choice of words,  saying, "The people of Delhi have shown the might of a tsunami against a wave," said Uddhav.

"The Modi wave" was used by the BJP to illustrate the Prime Minister's popularity in the lead-up to the Lok Sabha polls and indeed, the PM led the BJP to the strongest election result in India in nearly 30 years.
