Violence flares after Baghdad's decade-old curfew lifted

The historic end of Baghdad's decade-old curfew was marred by more violence a day afterward -- highlighting the security challenges that still plague Iraq.

The curfew, which was in place nightly, was lifted at 12.01 a.m. The move represents the first time the curfew, aimed at stymying violence in Baghdad, has been completely lifted since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.
