No law violated or contravened in Afzal Guru hanging: Cong

Congress part spokesperson Ajay Kumar has responded to Shashi Tharoor's tweet on Afzal Guru. In an official statement Kumar said, "Due process of law was followed in the Afzal Guru hanging. The order was executed on basis of Supreme Court's verdict."

"No law was violated or contravened," Kumar added.

The Congress party's statement comes after Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, tweeted, "I think the hanging was both wrong & badly handled. Family should have been warned, given a last meeting & body returned."

Tharoor's comments come after five Congress MLAs in Jammu & Kashmir admitted in a signed statement that Afzal Guru's hanging was a "mistake."
