Journalist Shireen Dalvi has approached the Bombay High Court seeking anticipatory bail after several FIRs were slapped against her.

Dalvi, the former editor of an Urdu daily newspaper, Awadhnama, was arrested on January 28 by the Mumbra police, for allegedly reprinting a cartoon of Prophet Mohammed that was originally published in Charlie Hebdo, a French satirical weekly magazine.

Dalvi (46) is on the run, with FIRs being filed against her on a daily basis across the state. Her two children have stopped attending college and she hasn't met them since January 17, the day she reproduced a cover of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo on Page One.
