Typing mistake, says govt after calling north-east citizens 'immigrants'

Kiren Rijiju, MoS Home on BJP vision document calling people from the north-east as immigrants: "Must be a typing/printing mistake or clerical error, will correct it."

BJP's vision document for the Delhi Assembly polls stoked a fresh controversy after it referred to people from the north-eastern states living in Delhi as 'immigrants'.

In the document, the party promises to protect "north-eastern immigrants" with measures that include setting up special cells in all police stations "for the protection of the north-eastern migrants."
