Delhi election: 167 FIRs lodged for poll code violation

Around167 FIRs have been registered against different political parties so far for alleged violation of Model Mode of Conduct in the run up to the Delhi assembly election.

According to the State Election Commission, 69 FIRs were lodged against Aam Aadmi Party while 37 FIRs were registered against BJP for alleged poll code violation.

"Apart from AAP and BJP, 33 and 12 FIRs have been registered against Congress and BSP respectively. Three cases were registered against INLD while two FIRs were lodged against Akali Dal," said a senior official.

A total of Rs 32.20 lakh has so far been seized from different parts of the national capital, he said.
