Need for resolute action against terror: PM on killing of Japanese

Strongly condemning the 'gruesome' and 'barbaric killing of two Japanese nationals by the ISIS, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said it is a stark reminder of the emergence of terrorism as a major global challenge and pressed the need for more resolute action to deal with it.

He wrote a letter to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe,expressing India's solidarity in the wake of these acts of terror. The killing of Kenji Goto and Haruna Yukawa is 'gruesome &unfortunate', Modi said in a statement.

"These murders are a stark reminder to the world of the inhuman nature of terrorism and its emergence as a major challenge to the global community," he said in his letter to Abe, a day after the terror group claimed second of the Japanese hostages had been beheaded.
