The Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh has failed to fulfil promises it made to Muslims during the state polls, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind general secretary Maulana Mehmood Madani today claimed, and announced a "massive campaign" in the state to remind the ruling party of its unfulfilled promises.

"Akhilesh Yadav government has completed four years but failed to deliver on electoral promises made to Muslims. This government is useless and incompetent. If they fail in fulfilling them in time left with them, people will teach them a lesson in the Assembly polls," Madani told newspersons.

He said that the party had promised to put pressure on the Centre to implement Sachchar and Rangnath Misra committee recommendations on coming to power, but nothing has been done so far.

"Samajwadi Party in 2012 Assembly polls promised to exert pressure on the Central government for implementation of Sachchar and Rangnath Misra committee recommendations on coming to power and had also vowed to do what it had to do on its part for their implementation," Madani said.
