Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays the foundation of the ambitious Delhi-Meerut Expressway project, aimed at easing traffic congestion in the national capital.

The Prime Minister last month launched three important highway projects worth Rs 10,166 crore to decongest Delhi. The 87 km project besides 9 km connector will have 6 lane expressway and 4+4 lane highway, service roads, cycle tracks, flyovers, elevated sections, major and minor bridges, railway overbridges, vehicular underpasses and pedestrian underpasses.

Modi is in Noida to lay the foundation stone of the Rs 7,600 crore expressway.

Leaders of the Samajwadi Party and the BSP never attend a function in Noida which they feel is inauspicious and could jinx their political future.

With the PM today are UP Governor Ram Naik and Nitin Gadkari. Gadkari, we hear, did perform a puja to drive away evil forces.

When India enters the 22nd century, there will be one constant -- superstition.
