Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad registered a case against Ayaz Sultan, a youth from Malwani area of Mumbai who has been missing since October 30, for 'advocacy' of terror group Islamic State.

A case was registered against him late on Wednesday evening under relevant sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for advocacy and support for IS, ATS chief Vivek Phansalkar said.

Ayaz Sultan, Wajid Shaikh, Noor Mohammed and Mohsin Sayeed had left their homes in Malwani, allegedly to join IS. Sheikh was tracked down by ATS near Pune on December 23, while Noor returned home the following day. Sultan and Mohsin are still missing.

According to police, Sultan had told his parents that he was going to Pune in connection with a job offer from a Kuwait-based firm.
