Russia has always stood by India as a friend, says PM Modi in Moscow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the Indian community in Moscow.

"Perhaps in India, for the people who are watching this on TV, this must be a huge surprise," the PM said.

"So many people here have not been to India yet they have a lot of affection towards India. We are very proud that several people in Russia have so much warmth towards India," he added.

"I congratulate the Russian artistes who performed here this evening. Heard the chanting of Vedic Mantras here and I am told the singer who recited the Mantras is a very famous pop singer in Russia. I met Indologists and they spoke to me in Hindi. They shared that they teach India's history Several places across Russia marked 'International Day of Yoga' on 21st June," the PM said speaking about deepened Indo-Russian connections.
