Cold wave continues in north India; fog delays trains

Cold wave prevailed in most parts of north India, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday.

In Delhi, the Met Department has predicted the minimum temperature to be around 6 degree Celsius for today. 

The national capital on Wednesday recorded its most polluted day of the year.

Meanwhile, higher reaches of the Kashmir Valley received fresh snowfall yesterday leading to further drop in mercury. 

Gulmarg at minus 11.4 degrees Celsius was the coldest recorded place in Jammu and Kashmir.

In Rajasthan, Churu recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 3.2 degrees Celsius. 

Many trains are running late due to foggy conditions in the Northern Division.
