Jaitley arrives at court to file criminal defamation suit against Kejriwal, AAP

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley reaches the Patiala House Court to record his statement and file a criminal defamation suit against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders amid a raging row over irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association and allegations of corruption against him by the Delhi government.


Jaitley has filed the defamation suit of Rs 10 crore against the AAP leaders. He has filed a defamation case against AAP's Kejriwal, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Kumar Vishwas, Raghav Chadha, Deepak Bajpai.


Jaitley's action comes in the backdrop of attacks on him by Kejriwal and other AAP leaders over alleged irregularities and financial bunglings in Delhi's cricket body, of which he was the president for about 13 years till 2013.


He also rubbished allegations against his family members, saying, "I have no family member who has even one paise interest in any form of business. Why should my family be part of a sports management business? "


The Delhi government had on Sunday decided to constitute a commission of enquiry to probe the alleged corruption in the DDCA.Kejriwal had written a letter to senior advocate Gopal Subramaniam to head the commission.The AAP and the Congress party have demanded Jaitley's resignation from the Union cabinet to enable an independent probe against him.
