Suspicious drone near Delhi airport: Cops announce reward

The Delhi police today announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh for any information on the accused who operated a suspicious unmanned aerial vehicle near the IGI Airport in October.

On October 27, a UAV, which the police called a suspicious drone, was spotted multiple times near the airport, following which a case was registered under relevant sections of the suppression of unlawful acts against safety of civil aviation Act and the IPC, said a senior police official.

Following the incident, the Union Home ministry had asked several agencies, including the Delhi police, to submit a detailed report on the case. However, no clue about the drone operator could be found till date, despite security agencies taking several measures and conducting meetings.
