Bardhan continues to remain critical

The condition of CPI veteran AB Bardhan, who was admitted to a hospital here after he suffered a paralytic stroke, continues to remain "critical". "He continues to remain critical. Doctors are trying their best," CPI national secretary D Raja said today. Besides leaders from the Left party, NCP chief Sharad Pawar had visited the GB Pant Hospital, where the 92-year-old leader is being treated, yesterday. "His daughter and grandson too are in the city to be by his side," senior CPI leader Atul Anjan said. Bardhan, who lives in the CPI Headquarters in New Delhi, lost consciousness yesterday and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Bardhan's wife, a professor in Nagpur University, had died in 1986.
