Water levels recede but Chennai residents are struggling

Life for people in Tamil Nadu's Chennai continue to be difficult though the rains have stopped in the capital.
Many areas in Chennai still remain under water and supplies of essentials was difficult, said residents.
Residents are complaining about lack of medicines, milk, potable water, vegetables and public transport.
Water levels in the Adyar and Cooum rivers have reduced following a sharp fall in the discharge of water from Chembarapakkam, Pondi and Puzhal lakes.
The Army and the National Disaster Response Force have rescued more than 7,000 people so far. But many are still marooned.
