No CBI probe into Kalburgi killing, says Siddaramaiah

The Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that his government would not hand over the probe into the killing of rationalist and writer Dr MM Kalburgi to the CBI.


"Our police department is capable of cracking the case. We know what's happening with the CBI probe into the death of (Narendra) Dabholkar. We will complete the probe," Siddaramaiah said.


He was replying in response to the demand by the BJP to hand over the case to the CBI for a probe. It has been three months since unidentified youths gunned down Dr. Kalburgi at his residence in Dharwad, northwest Karnataka, but the police have not identified the suspects
