AIADMK MPs get Parliament talking about Chennai

The 49 AIADMK MPs in both houses of Parliament impressed upon the BJP government that a discussion on the floods in Tamil Nadu was necessary. It also gave 26 AIADMK MPs the opportunity to talk about their constituencies.

A keen observer noted that the AIADMK MPs' speeches could have almost been approved by the Tamil Nadu chief minister-- except for the reference to the MPs' parliament constituencies -- the content, tone and tenor of speech is almost like that of Jayalalithaa's appeal to the PM to release funds for the state reeling under floods.
