Eight militants of the banned Balochistan Republican Army, including its commander, were today killed by Frontier Corps personnel in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province.

The Frontier Corps (FC) killed eight militants belonging to the Balochistan Republican Army (BRA), including its commander Chella Reesh, in the Darinjan Nulah area of Sui, FC spokesperson Khan Wasey told reporters.

He said the eight militants were killed during a targeted operation by the FC in Sui.

"The FC also recovered five SMGs, two IEDs and 15kg of explosive materials in the operation," he said.

"The militant group was involved in terrorist activities in Sui and other areas of Dera Bugti district," Wasey said.

Late last night the security forces had also killed four militants of the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in the Mian Gundai area near the Quetta-Mastung highway entry point.
