Pak air strikes kill 40 militants along Afghan border

Military air strikes in North Waziristan on Sunday killed around 40 militants, Pakistan state-run television reported.

Quoting military officials, Pakistan Television said government jets bombed targets in the Shawwal area of North Waziristan, along the border with Afghanistan.

The strikes are the latest in the ongoing ground and air offensive against militants launched in North Waziristan in June 2014.The military has said most areas in the remote mountainous tribal region, once a stronghold and main base of militant groups, have been cleared and remaining pockets along the border are under attack.
