A day after India summoned Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit to lodge a strong complaint over repeated border violations, Pakistani troops continued to shelled Indian posts and villages along the Line of Control.

Ceasefire violations, using 80mm and 120mm mortars, were reported in the Saujiyan sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Heavy shelling and firing by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Poonch district on Sunday left at least six civilians dead and 15 others injured.

However, when summoned, the Pakistani high commissioner blamed India for the cross-border firings and said that Islamabad was concerned about it.

"We are concerned about the ceasefire violations. In the month of July and August, there have been close to around 70 ceasefire violations from this side of the working boundary. We are obviously very concerned about it," Basit said.
