70,000 registrations for Modi's Dubai meet-the-people event

After lunch with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, PM Narendra Modi will leave for Dubai where he will address the Indian diaspora at a cricket stadium. Indian Consul General Anurag Bhushan said 70,000 registrations were confirmed for the stadium. "Expecting a lot of people outside the stadium," he tweeted. The capacity of the stadium is 40,000.


Modi is on a two-day visit to the UAE to hold talks on enhancing cooperation in trade and security. On the first day, he visited an iconic mosque in Abu Dhabi and later interacted with Indian workers.
