No exchange of sweets to take place between troops of India and Pakistan on 14th-15th August at the Wagah border. Pakistan celebrates it's Independence Day a day ahead of India.

With ceasefire violations increasing tensions between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control and International Border, and the capture of a Pakistani terrorist, Indo-Pak relations are at an all-time low.

In fact, Pakistani Rangers refused to accept sweets from Border Security Force officials on the occasion of Eid at the border checkpost at Wagah in Punjab last month.

Border guarding forces of the two countries have been following a tradition of exchanging sweets on festivals at the International Border in Jammu and along the Attari-Wagah border in Amritsar in Punjab.
