Pak Rangers shell 17 BOPs, villages in Jammu, one killed

A youth was killed and two others were injured, including a BSF jawan, when Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by resorting to firing and mortar shelling on border out posts and hamlets along the IB in Jammu district today.


BSF troops retaliated resulting in exchange of fire, which was still going on when last reports came. A BSF spokesman said, "Pakistani Rangers resorted to firing of small arms and mortar shells on BoPs along IB in Kanachak and Pargwal sectors of Jammu district from 0540 hours".


They targeted 12 BoPs along IB in these sectors. Five BoPs and hamlets in R S Pura sector were also targeted.
