Indian envoy to meet stranded girl in Karachi today

Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan Dr TCA Raghavan is due to meet the speech-and hearing impaired young Indian woman, Geeta, who has been stranded in Pakistan for at least 15 years and help her re-unite with her family back home. The Indian envoy is in Karachi and will meet the woman in a short while.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj took to Twitter this morning to confirm the development. The development comes a day after the Government of India agreed to help the young woman, now 23 years-old, and help her re-unite with her family members.
