8 dead, 7 injured in Thane building collapse

Following the collapse of a three-storey structure that occurred in Thane's Thakurli area last week, yet another housing society crumbled in Thane. Eight people have died and seven have been injured. Five families were living in the 50-year-old building, which was served a notice by the municipal corporation earlier this year to vacate. Rescue work is on with NDRF officials sifting through the debris to find people trapped.
