MEA responds to US report on status of minorities in India

The Ministry of External Affairs has responded to US panel's report that Indian minorities have been subjected to forced conversions and violent attacks under the new governments rule and at the hands of groups like the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

"India takes no cognisance of a US report passing judgement on religious freedom. The report appears to be based on limited understanding of India, its Constitution and society," the MEA responded this evening.
