Left-sponsored bandh begins in West Bengal

Kolkattans faced a lot of problems this morning due to the 24-hour shutdown call by the Left parties and their central trade unions to protest against the 'violence and vote loot' by activists of the ruling Trinamool Congress in the recently concluded Kolkata municipal corporation elections.

This is the first general strike called by the Left trade unions and Left parties in the state in last four years.
