Foreign tourist exodus from Nepal enters India via road

With more than 10,500 Indians back home by road, foreigners stranded in Nepal, are also opting for the road route to India and then home, reports Sharat Pradhan/Rediff.com reports from Sunauli on the Indo-Nepal border.


The Indian immigration office at Sunauli, the main gateway to India for anyone taking the road route out of Kathmandu, recorded an entry of as many as 385 foreign nationals. These included citizens from the United Kingdom, United States, China, Germany, France, Spain, Russia, Romania, Israel and Korea.
