A Telugu actress has been booked in a red sanders smuggling case by the Andhra Pradesh police on charges of conspiring with the smugglers of the precious wood.

"A hunt has been launched to nab Neetu Agarwal (the actress)," Kurnool District Superintendent of Police A Ravi Krishna told PTI over phone.

The actress has been named as accused number 9 in the red sanders smuggling case where 34 logs had been seized in Kurnool about two months ago.

YSR Congress leader and Chagalamarri mandal president Kondampalli Mastan Vali was arrested on April 13 in connection with the case. Agarwal, who has worked in the movie "Prema Prayanam" produced by Vali in 2013, transferred money from her bank account to the accounts of red sanders smugglers.

"We have identified that some money has been transferred from her bank account to the accounts of red sanders smugglers. We are on the lookout for her," the SP said. He added that police were in the process of freezing her bank account.
