Ready to present record of all communal incidents to House: Rajnath

Home Minister Rajnath Singh, speaking in the Lok Sabha, says the government's efforts will be to instill a 'sense of confidence' among the minorities, not a 'sense of fear'.

However, he said, he deplored the attempts made to raise any incident of violence in any part of India in the House, and to portray it as a communal one and paint the government as being responsible for it.

This leads to protests from the Opposition benches, following which Singh said he was willing, if Speaker Sumitra Mahajan permitted him, to place before the House the complete record of communal incidents in the country so the nation could see the truth for itself.
