Mulayam to head grand merger of six anti-Modi parties

In an attempt to tackle the Narendra Modi-powered BJP government, six parties from the erstwhile 'Janata Parivar' have finally decided to come together and float a new political front.

The six parties, which have come together are Nitish's Janata Dal (United), Lalu Prasad's RJD, Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party (SP), Om Prakash Chautala's Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), Janata Dal (Secular) led by former prime minister HD Deve Gowda and Samajwadi Janata Party (SJP).

Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has been chosen as the president of the new front.

No decision on the party's name, symbol or colours, yet.
