As VK Singh, MoS External Affairs, oversees evacuation of Indians from Yemen, extremely successfully at that, an interesting read from the Telegraph on Singh's presence at Pakistan's National Day celebrations in New Delhi. 

"Mercifully, the hurricane that swept through the electronic media on Pakistan's National Day has receded, and other more enticing issues have taken centre stage, making one wonder what all the fuss was about.

"India is, after all, host to many diplomatic missions, and civility requires that we fulfil our protocol obligations in good grace, notwithstanding diplomatic issues that may exist between our countries.

"So, one is left wondering whether there was more to it than meets the eye? Could it be the persona of the minister of state, V.K. Singh, for whom controversy appears to be a constant companion?"
