Cabinet rejig before Modi goes West, Mehbooba Mufti may get berth

Reshuffle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Cabinet is likely to take place before he leaves for foreign visit on April 9.

Top BJP sources say the exercise "will focus on improving governance and accommodating allies."

It will be the second reshuffle for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government in the past 10 months.

The sources said a leader from election-bound Bihar and one each from the Shiv Sena and the Peoples Democratic Party may be inducted in the council of ministers.

Mehbooba Mufti, daughter of Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and president of the Peoples Democratic Party, which governs in the region alongside Modi's BJP, will be inducted into the 65-member council, two sources with knowledge of the matter said.
