70 killed, hundreds rescued after Kenya university attack

Masked al-Shabab militants stormed dormitories at Garissa University College in northeastern Kenya early on Thursday killing 70 people, the Kenyan government said.Militants stormed the campus around 5.30 a.m., shooting students and taking some hostage. 

More than 500 students were rescued, and 79 people were injured, according to Kenya's National Disaster Operation Center.
