World's oldest person Misao Okawa dies at 117

Misao Okawa, a Japanese woman who was recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's oldest living person, died at the age of 117 early Wednesday morning at a nursing home in Osaka, sources close to her said.

Born in 1898, Okawa was recognised by Guinness as the oldest living woman in February 2013 at 114 and as the oldest living person in August the same year at 115.
