Fear of floods looms large as Srinagar experiences heavy rain again

It has begun raining again in Srinagar today morning. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the Kashmir Valley would receive heavy rains today.

The respite from heavy raise through yesterday had seen the water level in the River Jhelum receding below the danger mark.

Heavy rains over the weekend had seen the water level crossing the danger mark late on Sunday night. The Jammu and Kashmir government had issued a flood alert on Monday, causing worry and panic.
