CBI chief Ranjit Sinha who is in the glare of the Supreme Court over his 'visitors' diary' was accorded a seat in the front row at the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Justice of India, HL Dattu.

Sinha has been embroiled in a controversy before the apex court for meeting various people accused in the 2G, including Reliance officials, and coal block allocation scams at his 2 Janpath official residence in New Delhi.

Many judges of the Supreme Court who were present at the ceremony were discomfited by Sinha's presence.

But Ranjit Sinha, our sources tell us, did not seem embarrassed, and even went up to them shook hands and exchanged pleasantries.

Other invitees watched the scene with some surprise.
