A video of journalist Rajdeep Sardesai roughed up by pro-Modi supporters outside the Madison Square Garden, shortly before the Prime Minister's address, created quite a buzz yesterday. In fact, the hashtag #IstandwithRajdeep trended above #ModiatMadison yesterday.

It began when @JFK_America posted, "Mob of people attacking an Indian journalist for being critical of Modi on the past. Accused of being a traitor'.

This is the video that shows Rajdeep being pushed around and heckled by a crowd of Modi fans outside MSG. Watch

Sardesai told Rediff.com's Chaya Babu: "I got pushed around a little, but it's par for the course as a journalist. Most people here are good people."

However, you can't keep Modi bhakts down.

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy posted this on his FB page today:

"From yesterday many media houses are playing a small, incomplete clip and claiming that Modi supporters attacked Rajdeep Saradesai!

Now watch this video to know what really happened! It was our renowned Journalist who actually first abused, and attacked an NRI at Madison Square Garden, NYC. After this incident NRI's started calling police, which is the right thing to do!
