O Panneerselvam to replace Jayalalithaa as Tamil Nadu CM
September 28, 2014  16:53
O Panneerselvam has been named the new Tamil Nadu chief minister. The decision was taken at the meeting held by AIADMK leaders. The decision was made after Jayalalithaa stepped down after a special court found her guilty and sentenced her to 4 years in jail in the disproportionate assets case.   Panneerselvam is one of Jayalalithaa's close aides and the current state finance minister. He was also appointed chief minister in 2001 when the Supreme Court had annulled Jayalalithaa's appointment.
