PM to be briefed on incursion in Ladakh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to be briefed about the situation in Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control where Chinese troops have intruded for the last more than 10 days.

The army and the other top security brass are likely to brief the Prime Minister on the situation in Chumar sector of Ladakh before he leaves for his US visit later this week, sources said.

The Prime Minister's Office gets updated on the situation everyday by top security officials, they said. The Directorate General of Military Operations is keeping the PMO and the defence ministry informed about the developments in Chumar on a regular basis, they said.

Chinese troops have pitched their tents in the area and their helicopters have been seen dropping food packets for soldiers.
