Please don't deviate from duty of the CM: Mahasweta Devi to Mamata

Sources told rediff.com that writer and social activist Mahasweta Devi sent a 'private' letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee this evening following the violence at Jadavpur University.

"Please don't deviate from the duty of the chief of the state," she is known to have written to the CM.

Political analysts are of the opinion that the JU incident will spark off a series of protests in Bengal.

"Jadavpur will be Mamata (Banerjee)'s Nandigram," said painter and activist Samir Aich.
