New posting for Presidents aide?

Buzz in the department of personnel is that Dr Thomas Mathew, currently additional secretary to President Pranab Mukherjee, is being tipped for the post of director general, acquisition, in the defence ministry.

Dr Mathew is due for promotion as secretary, and the new posting will obviously pave the way for his elevation as defence secretary.
