ISRO: India will be the 1st South Asian country to go to Mars

K Koteshwar Rao, Scientific Secretary, ISRO holds a presser on the upcoming Mars mission. Rao says India will be the 1st Asian country to go to Mars. "If successful, on the 24th, we will be the 1st country to be successful in our maiden attempt," he says.

As the country's Mars orbiter mission nears its destination, scientists at ISRO are gearing to undertake a "challenging task" on September 24 when they would restart the onboard liquid engine, which has been in sleep mode for nearly ten months, for a critical manoeuvre of the spacecraft.
