India, Vietnam ink seven agreements

Signalling
their intent to move closer in various spheres, India and Vietnam on
Monday signed seven agreements, including one for direct flights between
their capitals, for scouting for oil, and an extended line of credit
for purchase of defence equipment.
The seven agreements were signed in the presence of visiting Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and his Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang.
Agreements were also signed in the field of defence, energy, finance and aviation.
President Pranab Mukherjee gifted a sapling of the holy Bodhi tree from Bodh Gaya to the Vietnamese President.
India has also given a 100 million dollar line of credit to Vietnam for procurement of defence equipment from India.
