Our correspondent from New Delhi reports: Ever since the National Democratic Alliance government has assumed power on May 26, the new cabinet's top ministers and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been to the hospital for one reason or other.

Right now Union Minister Arun Jaitley is in hospital. On August 24, Modi checked into the All India Institute of Medial Sciences for check up before traveling to Japan. On August 13, in the midst of the controversy around his son Pankaj, Home Minister Rajnath Singh was hospitalised.

When he was admitted at the AIIMS, it was said that Singh complained of stomach pain. In fact, Singh has been mysteriously losing weight.   External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is also not in the best of her health. She suffers from acute diabetes and has been hospitalised in the past. Rural Development Minister Nitin Gadkari also suffers from obesity and lifestyle-related issues.

Gadkari and Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu have both undergone weight reduction surgery and as a result, have lost weight and appetite.

Minister of Human Resource Development Smriti Irani is healthy and young, but suffers from weight-related issues. BJP president Amit Shah also suffers from obesity related issues and starts his day with a handful of pills.
